3 Easy Tricks to Better Mountain Bike Tyres
3 Easy Tricks to Better Mountain Bike Tyres
Proper tyre pressure lets your bike roll quickly and ride smoothly. Mountain bike tyres typically require between 2 to 3.4 bar depending on rider weight and terrain type. To find your ideal pressure, start in the middle of these ranges, then factor in your body weight. The more you weigh, the higher your pressure needs to be. For example, if a 75kg rider uses 2 bar on his bike, a 90kg rider should run closer to 2.8-3 bar, and a 58kg rider could get away with 1.8 bar. Never go above or below the manufacturer’s recommended pressures but it’s a matter of trial and error and also what you’re most comfortable with. Also remember terrain such as sand will require you to drop your pressures even further for better traction.
