GREAT……
fast and fun!
Nice race if you want to do some easy pedaling instead of a technical challenging ride. 45k of which 43k gravel/grass and only 2k singletrack. The 10k and 20k riders joining the 45k race towards the end is not ideal for all riders, however with the wide gravel roads there is plenty space to pass safely.
Did the 105km race for the first time. A good challenging route with full road closure. Just an immense pity that it is not well supported. Less than 900 finished the 105km, and there was practically no public support of riders through the suburbs and along the way. One would expect more from what is pitched as Durban’s equivalent of the 94.7. Perhaps a lack of publicity?
Good organisation overall.
Did the 45km this year and enjoyed it. The road closure was excellent for kids – my 11 year son did the race. Overall happy with the event.
