Spectators will be transported by buses to the various venues and will enjoy breakfast and lunch with riders. The spectator package is available at R300 per person for the day. Spectator buses will leave venues 10 minutes prior to stage starts.
NOTE: Jock Hillclimb – Sunday 22 July 2012
The Jock Hillclimb is back. Taking place on Sunday 22 July 2012.
Included at the top of the hill is a Champaign Breakfast to all finishers!
Great race, challenging!!
I have been cycling since 2000 and have 12 ARGUS RACES AND 94.7 RACES & several others totalling over 70 races but this was my first JOCK and I was really disappointed a few times with the organising. It started with picking my number up …what should have been quick in and out like usual ended with waiting and listening to the ONE LADY only (for all categories) arguing with every second person while the the cue is piling up. You can also ask your question..what now, where next, etc.. …nobody seems to know or they are irritated being overloaded or outnumbered by the situation.
There are no information available(nobody knows …no signs) on where is the START of the race the following morning or where the SPECTATOR buses will be…THIS IS OUR FIRST TIME AND WE NEED TO KNOW PLEASE!!
The result on race day is chaos and one person running around and constantly apologising to everybody about it.
When you get to the next stage-point and the toilets are locked and nobody knows where the keys are and people are still arguing about where the tables must be for the food and the same person is running around and apologising for the chaos…..
Every body knows that what is done is done voluntary (and not everybody is grateful or patient) but this is the overall management that is lacking that is causing the frustration to the volunteers and the participants.
Come Mr. ORGANISER …. visit the other races (Kremetart, Lost city, Ride for sight, etc.) and see how it’s done…you have a great town with great people and this is GREAT EVENT and we want good memories.
Fine but consider a goodiesbag for stage2 riders!
Very though race. The starting of the 2nd and 3rd stages were not good.
The Jock is absolute great. Anyone complaining? Come and do it. Better. I race for the love cycling.
