Description

ROUTE DESCRIPTION

This great event offers three routes in the popular Grabouw Forest. The 10 km route is aimed at beginners and youngsters (grandparents also welcome!), while experienced MTB riders can tackle the challenging 50 km endurance event. This route requires technical experience to handle the fine single track, many jeep track climbs and exhilarating descents. Don’t feel like doing all those climbs? Then the 25 km is just right for you! Be warned, the two longer routes both include some long, steady climbs, but the stunning view makes up for the sweat. The single track sections will still have you raving about them weeks later

I did the 50km race. The event was planned to have the 25km start 10mins after us instead of starting later or much earlier. They caught up and all hell broke loose on the single track. We had to walk most of it. Only one water point on the whole 50km race which was at 13km into the race. At the end the distance was 55km and not the 50km it should have been. Will never do it again.

    Awesome race!

50km had some really nice and technical single track, had me walking quite a lot. Was not easy! My first MTB race, very hard but very fun! Nicely organized.

I did the 50km and it was great! Yes some waiting at some singletrack sections, which was a bit frustrating. First half was easy, and the second last 15km was hard. All uphill and tough. It was a great route, and this one is always a favourite! Will be back next year! Thanks to Tru Cape and the gang!
