Die klomp hobbels in die pad as jy uit die aanloopbaan van Tarlton draai na Maggalies toe kon meer aandag op gevestig word by die wegspring maar verder was dit ‘n goed gereelde wedren, het geval en die hulp was puik.

The Wliro 100 race was well organised and besides the rumble strips in the beginning of the race, a great race.
I did the 41km and my colleagues did the 114km and all enjoyed the race and praised the Marshalls out on the road. They did a sterling job and hats off to them, a great bunch of people giving up their time to keep us safe on the roads. We will be back next year. A 4 star rating

The course is fantastic test of fitness after the cycle tour and a great motivator to keep on cycling through winter, however certain issues for the tailenders which have left me feeling disappointed with the organisers. These being:-
    1) Tailenders were not advised of a cut off time thus anybody finishing +5 hours gets a finishers medal but no official time – thats why we ride so that we can improve our times = bad show Wilro Lions.
    2) Waterpoints few and far between with first at 55km into the 114km race, next at 90km and next at 104km despite route map showing first at 35 km next at 60km next at 90km and last at 104km.
    3) I stopped to assist a person with a puncture and found at 90km we were left to our own devices as all marshalls rode past us on the n14

In my opnion the only thing to get me to enter this race again is the course which is fantastic and thus I give it 4 stars

Challenging route and overall well organised, BUT:
    1. Rumble strips down steep declines to Hekpoort not clever, and should have been clearly marked (at least we did get warnings about the ones just after the start and could look out for them).
    2. Not all potholes were filled, despites statements that they were, especially a HUGE one in the shade and dip coming into Magaliesberg. This caused numerous popped tyres. Should have had big luminous marking in advance.
    3. Too few water points,, slow service and two ran out of water! Unforgiveable on a long race.

i first did the wilro cycle challenge in 2009 and i found it to be a challenging race and i enjoyed it,but when i did it this year I was shocked at the fact that there werent enough water points on the route.you need to be more organised when it comes to this kind of thing.i fell approximately 80km’s into the race about 5km’s later i managed to find a marshall standing under a tree in order to find out where the next waterpoint was as all my juice and water had run out before i had fallen.i will probably ride it again next year. the wilro lions need to be more organised for future races in years to come
