110 Kph behind Digby’s Kombi pasts Lanseria Airport. Tip for imitators: stay behind the bloody Kombi!( Go to one side and burn up as you re-enter the Earth’s atmosphere. Your bike feels like it has taken two blow-outs and your face turns inside out making you look a bit like Andrew Lloyd-Webber.)
Tip for drivers of Kombi: bear in mind that straddling potholes is not necessarily the wisest thing for the speed freak in your slipstsream.
Today 61.5km/h on my brother’s MTB with slicks….in my first ever 105km road race.
I got up to 92kms per hour going down Ou Kaapse Weg in the last Argus which used this route.
