The year 2010 has been a very memorable one for me, and has now come to the end.
It’s time to wish you a great festive season, and super 2011! If you have been able to follow Team Medscheme’s progress, then thank you for reading.
We have had some great racing with Team Medscheme and the great bunch of guys involved with the team under the leadership of Malcolm Lange and Langesports. Have a look at the team site www.teammedscheme.co.za for a full list of the successes that team team has had.
This year has been adventure, from racing in Dubai in January, to the Cape Argus Cycle Tour with Lance Armstrong. The Tour of Thailand and Jelajah Malaysia were some places that the team was able to perform! Later in the year the team also enjoyed success in India.
The final few months were very important, and targeting a few races, the team was able to emulate the success of the previous year with wins in the MTN Amashova and the Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge, to add to the earlier win at the Cape Argus Cycle Tour in March!
I have had a great time with Team Medscheme this year and hope that I added value to their racing. My finest moments of the year include a second place at SA Championships, riding up front in the Argus and helping Malcolm Lange win his third Cape Argus Cycle Tour.
The Tour of Thailand was perhaps not best suited to my capabilities but I finished second overall, and assisted the team to win the team competition.
A little accident interrupted my season, but after recovering I was able to get back into a position to assist my team mates in their successes again, with Arran Brown coming into good form again near the end of the year, to win the MTN Amashova!
Heading into the final race of the season, the Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge, we hoped to make a good team effort once more. It worked out well with all of the team members making the front split, setting up a good result. I was fortunate enough to make the winning move, and enjoyed my finest moment of the year. It would not have been possible without my ‘mates supporting me from behind, so a big thank you to all the guys from Team Medscheme for a great moment, and super few years. Malcolm, Neil, Waylon, Arran, Hanco, Johann and Luthando. It has been great and I wish you all of the luck for 2011!
Team work and friendship, that’s the key to our success!
To the support staff in the background, and behind the scenes: Kanidice, Magnus and Jackie, Thank you very much!
Then to Medscheme, and all the supporters and sponsors of Team Medscheme, thank you very much for your input into our successes!
