Sports Minister Fikile Mbalula announced last week that he will be participating in this year’s 94.7 Cycle Challenge but he isn’t planning on winning it.
Mbalula joined the 94.7 Breakfast Xpress team last week to announce his participation in this year’s race in November. He was delighted to receive his official race number – 26318. Minister Mbalula has set himself a target – his aim is to complete the 94.7kms in under 3hours.
According to allafrica.com, Mbalula said every morning he cycled about 20 km. “It is pity that for security purposes, I cannot reveal my route. The only time I don’t cycle is when I am outside the country.”
