2013 Epic Entries Gone In 60 Seconds

Early bird entries for the 2013 Cape Epic went on sale on Monday and were snapped up in 57 seconds. Not bad considering you had to pay the R40k entry fee up front.

At exactly 3pm on Monday, it was a question of fastest fingers first for the first 100 people to secure an entry for next year’s Epic. The entry fee of R39, 800 per team had to be paid up front.

If you missed out on the early bird entries, you can still enter via the lottery which opened straight after the early bird entries closed. The closing date for the lottery is 30 May 2012.

“The early bird entries worked like a charm for the past four years. In the first year (2009), it only took 100 seconds for 100 entries to be taken and this year less than 60 seconds. It opens up the playing field and adds some excitement to the race. Of course Lady Luck also plays her part,” says Kevin Vermaak,Director and Founder of the race.
