Training Plans For Every Race

8-week training plans for double centuries, multi-day rides, and races.

The key to training for a specific event/race is to turn your regular outings into training rides—incorporating varied but increasingly focused efforts, says coach James Herrera, MS, founder of Performance Driven, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. As you move toward your goal, remember that training isn’t one size fits all. If you’re working a regular job—40, 50, 60 hours a week—pay attention to your recovery. “You need to train hard when you’re fresh, and rest when you’re tired,” Herrera says. In other words, adjust your plan to fit your life.

Thanks for the plan, but it does not help mere mortals like me that have a full time job. How about posting a program for working people.

Firstly, at this time of the year, it is too dark before and after work. Secondly, it is too dangerous to cycle in the week. How about a program that is based on spinning in the week and one or two weekend rides on the weekend?
