Have you (or a friend) overcome adversity in the saddle? Are you dead-set on riding the Absa Cape Epic in 2018? We’ve got just the competition for you!

The Absa Cape Epic has earned its rightful place as one of the most exhilarating and life-changing mountain-bike races in the world. Tales of conquest and “near-death” experiences, each wilder than the one before, marks the general atmosphere within the race village year after year for many amateur and professional riders.

Many come from near and far to witness this majestic race, either to cheer their significant others on or as a support team offering mechanical or personal assistance – all with the same goal: to help the determined riders conquer any obstacles they might encounter and get them all the way to the Grand Finale.

Because we know that cyclists meet with hardship, both on and off Epic soil, we want to hear your stories and salute you!

Share your #ConquerAsOne moments with us, and you could WIN with Absa!

Did you overcome punctures, mud, dust, injuries, the cut-off gun – anything goes. We want to see it! And note, anyone that is involved – be it a partner, supporter, logistics person, crew – anyone that sees or is involved with a #ConquerAsOne moment can enter.

How it works

Fill out the form below (this form will be removed once the competition closes) and send us your story with pictures of how you overcame adversity on the bike. We’ll upload your entry to the website with a voting tool where fans can vote for your story. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for details on when voting opens, then you can get your friends and family to vote for you!

Our judges will make the final call and the rider who showed the most grit will go head-to-head with the #ConquerAsOne hero at the 2017 Absa Cape Epic. Yes, your story will compete with that of the cyclist who overcomes the most gruelling obstacles during the 2017 Epic! May the best rider win!

If you don’t have pictures that capture the moment, your happy snaps and selfies will do – don’t forget to add your #ConquerAsOne story.

Send your story and images to Biccompetitions@media24.com

Voters stand the chance to win rad cycling hampers – so tell your mates to get involved!
