DESCRIPTION:The “7Passes MTB”\, powered by Knysna Toyota is back!  It’s happening on the 7th of January 2023. This route offers the perfect opportunity for gravel-bikers to take on the 29ers. E-bikers are also welcome on this non-technical route. The open grass area\, directly in front of the Wilderness Hotel will be host to the start venue. \nBatch starts from 07H00 just before late registration between 06H00 and 07H00. There will be registration Friday evening\, 6 January 17H00 to 19H00 in George at Ground Zero.  7Passes MTB also offers a shorter route for younger or not so fit riders who still want to be part of the action! \nLeeuwenbosch Dairies will once again support the 38km event which starts on Saturday morning from the Highlands Cash Store in the humble little village of Karatara. The start time for the shorter route is 09H30.

DESCRIPTION:THIS IS A POINT TO POINT\, SOLELY GRAVEL ROUTE EVENT\, NO SECTIONS OF TAR ANYWHERE! \nKaroo to Montagu \nThree distances makes it possible for all fitness levels to experience this stunning ride: 70/100/210km \nThis event is open for Gravel bikes\, Mountain bikes and E bikes. \nEvent Distances \nKortpad/Shortcut 70km:  this route option is for those not so fit yet or a first time gravel event rider.  The route runs all the way downhill to Montagu with 3 short climbs that will test your lungs.  Just a fun way to get into gravel road riding. \nOmpad/Detour 100km:  adding a 30km through the reserve makes this the ideal distance if you have some fitness in your legs.  Not too long just that perfect distance making you finish in that sweet spot. \nLangpad/Longway 210km:  Race distance for the ultra marathon junkies\, those legs that know they can go the whole way.  This route has everything you may want on a gravel event\, some stiff climbs\, twisty downhill on a mountain pass and in between outstretched sections where you can really put the hammer down. Terrain varies and you will not be bored or disappointed.

One strategy focuses on making this area a top-box destination for various sport meeting and event planners by creating greater awareness\, attracting interested visitors resulting in increased tourist activity throughout the area. \nOur aim is to make this event an annual fixture\, it is the FIRST of its kind in the world. \nAdditional Info: \nRiders must also bring the following: \n\nWater bottles or hydration backpacks. DESCRIPTION:Gamka Heritage Challenge is a unique Mtb race with routes from Celebratio Venue in and around the Gamka Oos Area. In addition to the Mtb race there is also a Trail Run. \nThe race will start and finish at Celebratio Pomegranate Farm near Calitzdorp and will take riders on gravel roads in the Gamka Oos area. Riders will pass the Calitzdorp Warm Water Spa and Karoo Water on the outskirts of the Gamka River. \nAbout Celebratio Pomegranate Farm\n“The farm Celebratio\, situated between Oudtshoorn and Calitzdorp in the Little Karoo\, is owned by a third-generation Meyer who refused to take “no” for an answer when experts said the land was not suitable for the cultivation of any crops. Today Celebratio successfully grows and exports pomegranates. Gerhard permanently moved to the farm in October 2017. Since then he has been busy establishing an eco tourism leg to the farm. His dream is to make Celebratio a landmark in the Little Karoo with an offering second to none. DESCRIPTION:To read the full statement about the postponement\, click here \n\nThe Swartberg100 Gran Fondo starts and ends in Prince Albert\, arguably one of the most attractive Karoo towns in South Africa\, it covers 170 km of which there are 3 gravel sectors covering 79 km. The final climb is over the gravel Swartberg Pass\, a relentless climb of 28 km\, the last 9.8 km being on gravel with gradients of 16% in places. \nThe Swartberg100\, in true South African tradition\, will be one of the toughest Gran Fondo’s in the world. We have created a course that goes back to the days of old when mountain passes were all gravel and brave cyclists climbed them on single speed bikes weighing in at 16 kg. A course that allows us to pit our modern training knowledge and technology against an old foe\, a road surface that isn’t always friendly.​ \nChoose your weapon carefully for this race\, too much rubber could slow you down\, too little could make the gravel sectors a lot tougher. Watch those gears\, not enough top end and you’ll spin out on the flats\, not enough bottom end and you’ll be walking up those 16% inclines. – Bike choice is key… \nThe Gran Fondo\n– 170 kilometres\, 3000 metres of ascent\, 79 kilometres of gravel in 3 Sectors.\n​- The last 2 km to the Swartberg summit is at an average gradient of 12%\n– The summit is at the 150km mark\, from there it’s a nail-biting 20km descent into Prince Albert\n– The start gun goes at 7am (Sunrise)\n– Cut off at the end is at 5pm\n– If you don’t make water-point 3 by 2:10 pm the sweep bus will take you home.\n​- Finishing this race is an achievement. \nThe Medio Fondo\nExact Measurements:\n– ​53.75km and 389 metres of ascent.\n​- A flat fast route an average rider will easily complete in 2.5 hours. \nThe Staffetta\nStaffetta is Italian for “relay race”\, we thought we would keep to the Italian theme\, after all it was the Italians who came up with the idea of a Gran Fondo\, a fun race\, a great challenge for all riders\, professional to amateur to enjoy together\, back in 1970 in the small town of Cesenatico\, home of Marco Pantani.\n\nThe e-Fondo\nSwartberg Pass provides a great challenge for e-bike riders\, spectacular climbing over 65km on a morning outing on your e-bike. This race takes your through unspoilt scenery from the old-mine village on an open gravel road that will both challenge you mentally and physically. This race is especially exceptional because it takes you from the afternoon straight through to the next day. DESCRIPTION:SouthxSoutheast or SxSE is a Gravel Fondo bike race in South-East Gauteng taking place on the 20th of October 2019\, approximately an hour outside of JHB. The race is open to all drop bar gravel bikes\, of any sort! The Troyeville Flamingoes Cycling Club will host the event\, with the start at The Stone Cellar (Suikerbosrand River banks). \nThe race will tackle a host of gravel roads and jeep track in the surrounding area\, covering 110km with over 1100m of vertical ascent.
