DESCRIPTION:The “7Passes MTB”\, powered by Knysna Toyota is back!  It’s happening on the 7th of January 2023. This route offers the perfect opportunity for gravel-bikers to take on the 29ers. E-bikers are also welcome on this non-technical route. The open grass area\, directly in front of the Wilderness Hotel will be host to the start venue. \nBatch starts from 07H00 just before late registration between 06H00 and 07H00. There will be registration Friday evening\, 6 January 17H00 to 19H00 in George at Ground Zero.  7Passes MTB also offers a shorter route for younger or not so fit riders who still want to be part of the action! \nLeeuwenbosch Dairies will once again support the 38km event which starts on Saturday morning from the Highlands Cash Store in the humble little village of Karatara. The start time for the shorter route is 09H30.

SUMMARY:To Hell and Back MTB Stage Race
DESCRIPTION:CS Lewis said that ‘the road to hell is the gradual one – the gentle slope\, soft underfoot\, without sudden turnings\, without milestones\, without signposts.’ In this case\, the road to the Hell is a rocky dirt road with steep slopes\, sharp switchbacks\, ups and downs\, dropping a hair raising 3000 feet down into a valley. \nThis race proudly is the first MTB stage race in South Africa. The views while riding on these historic roads are extraordinary\, jaw-dropping and nail-biting all in one. It is known as the longest mountain pass in South Africa. \nThe overnight stop in The Hell means everybody stays together\, which makes for a great atmosphere. The uniqueness of the race village is ‘captured’ within the sheer remoteness of Gamkaskloof\, no electricity\, no cell reception\, no TV\, not even radio reception. \nIt was in 1995 that the first To Hell and Back took place. It came about from the love of riding and to popularise The Hell.
