DESCRIPTION:The HI-TEC Walker Bay Outdoor (“WBO”) Hermanus is a multi-day multi-discipline outdoor sports and lifestyle festival held in and around Hermanus and the Walker Bay region at the end of April each year. \nWBO is focused on becoming the world’s coolest outdoor sports festival\, and we invite you to be part of that journey. \nThe whole event experience is set around being both family and spectator friendly. It is designed so that athletes can participate in two events per day or perhaps a couple over the weekend. DESCRIPTION:After the success we had last year we are looking forward to hosting this event again in 2023 in conjunction with the Nuy Festival. \nThe route for the run and the ride will meander through the spectacular farms that form part of the festival. The longer distances will take you on magnificent gravel roads close to the mountains as well as some single track sections on the existing Nuy Trails. The Eden_burg 100 Miler\, 80 km\, and 40 km will start this year at Die Buite Plaas\, Ferreira Road. The distance is relatively 160 km\, 80km and 40km which travels through the flat lands of the Free State. \nThe route isn’t technical\, but challenges riders with a few hills to overcome. \nThe venue caters for the whole family so bring the kids to enjoy some fun in the sun with loads of activities\, while you wait for the riders to come in. There is a restaurant that has a menu with a big variety for all to enjoy. Cash and card facilities available.

The longer route will turnaround at The Gannaga Lodge where our magically themed lunch stop will be situated. \nThe long route is really tough and suited for experienced riders. Or for those who don’t care and are happy to ride in the desert. We like those people. Like a lot. They are us people. \nThe medium route is no gimmie and we’re sending you way out into the rocky desert to bake. Will there be a Kief Kafé ready to refuel you? You betcha. Will there be a vintage fridge hidden with ice cold cokes in glass bottles – obviously. We’re also looking to have an ice cream van parked somewhere dishing out the goodness – who knows what we’ll come up with. \nDay 2 is shorter with some epic hike-a-bike sections across three river crossings. A hidden Kief Kafè will keep you moist\, as usual. Will there be banging beats played at full volume – OH YEAH! We’ve stopped calling the route short\, as its a bit misleading. Not a single free mile is to be found on this course. Pack your big boy panties for this one. \nWe’re going to ride flippin’ hard. We’re going to eat like desert royalty. Some no doubt will over hydrate in the Onverklaarbar. DESCRIPTION:Although Sylvester Mtb & Trail Run Challenge is a 3 day stage race\, it will also give participants the opportunity to enter for any of stages 2 & 3 (Sat 3 June & Sun 4 June) as one day races. This will give riders the feel of the race and hopefully convince them to enter for the full stage race in 2024. \nThere will also be 2 distances of Trail Running on Sat 3 June 2023\, so both social and more serious runners will be catered for! \nYes and of course we will not forget about the rest of the family – there will be a FUN 8km Run/Walk for them as well. \nRemember that Saturday and Sunday’s action will all start and finish at our race village\, Camp Grantham\, on the Fraserburg Rd.
