SUMMARY:Steam Train Challenge
DESCRIPTION:This exciting race\, the Steam Train Challenge\, is built on the tried and tested concept of man vs machine\, but is unique as it involves running and mountain biking.   \nThe race will take participants over a distance of approximately 90km’s\, through the picturesque scenery between the towns of Wellington and Ceres. \nThere are two participation options: \nRELAY RACE: Teams of six (three running and three cycling). This gives the serious and not-so-serious runner/cyclist the chance to take part\, making for a great team-building opportunity for corporates\, clubs\, and schools.\nSOLO RACE: Take on the train as a solo athlete in this interesting “duathlon-style” mix of running and mountain biking.

DESCRIPTION:Kick off those stilettos gals and start exercising those glutes!! Here’s an exercise option with a difference – a trail running and mountain biking event designed specifically for the fairer sex – a weekend in fact dedicated to the ladies. For once it’s the dads’ that must look after the kiddies and the moms and girlfriends who can have some fun. \nSound too good to be true? Read on —- Imagine a weekend where you can choose to run or ride a distance of your choice – this is a weekend designed for runners/ walkers and riders of all abilities. No impossible hills and jaw breaking roughs – but enough good trails to challenge yourself and stretch those limits. \nIf you’re single enjoy the day with your girlfriends. If you have a significant other this does not mean he needs to stay at home! Far from it – for once he’s at the finishing line cheering you on\, but before that he’s the one egging the kids on during a specially organised kiddies Run or MTB ride. (Moms and Dads can also enter this). \nWelcome to the 8th edition of the unbelievable and now infamous Hot 91.9fm TLC Ladies MTB and Trail Run Weekend taking place on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th of March 2018 taking place at the stunning Kloofzicht Lodge in The Cradle of Humankind. \nWe are extremely excited to have Hot 91.9fm on board as our official partner to the event.\n\nDress Code\nIf you are a lady\, we expect you to wear pink. If you are a gentleman willing to surround yourself with some great ladies\, you will be expected to wear Pink and Blue. participant (read more about “Dads’ Can Also Participate”) \n\nSpecial Under 10 Kids Run & MTB race\nIf you’ve got youngsters who are following in your steps or “tyre tracks”\, then they can do the easy 4km Trail Run or MTB race.\n\nOur Beneficiaries\nWe also want you to make a difference\, so you can make a difference by giving to our four official beneficiaries\, namely Hot Cares\, Pink Drive\, MBTM (More Balls than Most)\, and of course\, The Dads Charity Challenge.\nWhen you enter\, we ask that you support one or these charities by pledging a special amount when you enter online.\n\nSo\, let’s summarise what you will get: \n\nGreat riding and running\, on a private estates not normally open to the public\nA simply stunning venue to enjoy the day with your friends or family\nThen\, at race registration\, you will receive your race number and goodie bag\nShower facilities\nRace medal\nMTB’ers will have a choice of a fun 10km\, 25km or 40km route\nRunners/ Walkers will have a choice of a 4km\, 8km or a 16km route\nNew!
