Arnaud Démare’s Stage Winning Lapierre Aircode SL 900 Ultimate
Arnaud Démare sprinted to victory on Stage 18 aboard his Lapierre Aircode SL 900 Ultimate.
After a pair of mountain stages, the 2018 Tour de France route flattened out on Stage 18 and provided the penultimate opportunity for sprinters to win a stage at this year’s race.
Arnaud Démare won the 171km stage with ease after his FDJ teammates did a huge amount of work throughout the day to control the race. This marks his first win and the best result for Team Groupama-FDJ at the 2018 Tour.
Démare rode the Lapierre AIRCODE SL 900 ULTIMATE to victory, and the bike was equipped with Shimano’s Dura-Ace Di2 groupset and Dura-Ace C60 tubular wheels. With an eye towards minimising drag, he opted for the Shimano PRO Vibe aero handlebar and, as is commonplace now, a Garmin Edge 1030 turned down ever so slightly to cheat the wind.
