Avoid The Dreaded Face Plant

This video was sent to us by reader, Jay Margolis, who got thrown over his handlebars quite spectacularly after an errant log wedged in his front wheel while chasing mates down some single track at Jonkershoek in Stellenbosch. Surprisingly, no major bones commonly associated with cycling-related falls were broken. Jay sustained a fractured cheek, and had to receive 4 stitches to his mouth and a glued cut on the eye. He’s Oakley Jawbreakers and helmet saved his eyes, face and head from further injury.

While Jay is no slouch on the bicycle the dreaded face plant can come without warning, so it’s always a good idea to brush up on your  mountain bike handling skills from time to time to avoid any unnecessary accidents.
