Entries for the 34th annual Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour, the world’s largest timed cycling event, officially open at noon (12h00) on Wednesday, 1 September 2010.

“In 2009 the Cycle Tour Events Office received 3,000 entries within the first hour of entries opening, and a third of all available entries were filled after 48 hours. Interest in the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour is at an all time high following the participation of Lance Armstrong earlier this year. We’re expecting a flood of entries over the next two weeks,” advised David Bellairs, CEO of the Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust.

Cycle Tour entries will be limited to the first 35 000 paid-for entrants received and are awarded on a first-come-first-served basis.

The 2011 Cycle Tour is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 13 March.
