Daryl Impey can finally add the 947 Cycle Challenge title to his palmarès – something which has eluded the Orica-Scott for years.
After some hard racing Impey found himself in a small breakaway of five riders and decided to make the decisive move by using all of his World Tour and time-trial experience to ride away from the bunch. It paid off in spectacular fashion enabling him to trump second placed Calvin Beneke (Team BCX) by over a minute.
Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio won the women’s race in a time of 2:35:55.
