Have you ever wondered what it’s like to compete on the World Cup mountain bike racing circuit? Now you can stop wondering and meet top International MTB cyclists in person, at an exclusive session with the Trek Factory Racing XCO athletes! That’s right: you can join Emily Batty, Anton Cooper, Sergio Mantecon and Evie Richards at the #MyTrekSundowners event, to be held at the Meerendal Wine Estate, just days after they compete in the first leg of the 2018 UCI MTB World Cup in Stellenbosch! Can you think of a better way to get motivated on your own MTB journey?

Full sus vs. Hardtail: what bike will the team be riding at the MTB World Cup?

In the build-up to the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, the team will spend the next few days riding the track on the slopes of Coetzenburg Mountains in Stellenbosch. One of the key decisions that the riders will make in the build-up to the race is whether they ride the living legend Top Fuel Full Suspension Ride or the race weapon the Procaliber Hardtail Bike.

Most mountain bikes have suspension to keep you in control over rough ground, but not all mountain bikers need the same amount and type of suspension. Hardtail mountain bikes do not feature a rear shock, whereas full suspension bikes feature front and rear shocks. Determining whether a hardtail or a full suspension MTB is right for you depends on how and where you’ll be riding.

Check out this video by Emily Batty to see the advantages of each.

With both offering unique advantages, we’ll wait to see what they choose!
