The Canyon Endurace WMN CF SL Disc 8.0 Aero Is Fierce & Comfortable
Go long and feel fast on this women’s endurance road bike.
I have a love/hate relationship with race bikes: While I adore the sharp handling and instant acceleration they provide, the aggressive position and stiffness make my back and arms ache on long rides.
That’s exactly why I like the Canyon Endurace WMN. It’s the endurance-focused sister to Canyon’s race bike, the Ultimate. The bikes are similar in geometry – and both sport a frame designed to better fit women – but the Endurace has a slightly longer wheelbase, a lower bottom bracket, and a higher stack and shorter reach (both by 8mm). To accommodate shorter riders, Canyon spec’d the XXS and XXXS frames with 650b wheels, which reduces toe overlap, and helps smaller riders get in a lower riding position.
The Endurace walks the fine line between comfort and speed with striking balance. It’s marvellously fluid on broken pavement and gravelly dirt, and feels light and eager on climbs. It puts the rider in a comfortable position that’s not awkwardly upright. I was taken aback by how stiff and fierce it felt. I could charge toward the top of a hill, feeling much faster than I would expect to on an endurance-focused bike.
