Horison Adventure Challenge

Come and take part in this fun Sprint Adventure Race, a combination of Trail Run/Hike and MTB, and get a taste of what adventure racing is all about.

As is AR (Adventure Racing) tradition, races are usually undertaken by mixed teams of 2, 3 or 4. The race requires the team to navigate and find check points along the way. All the team members do the whole route together in all of the disciplines.. The team with most checkpoints and fastest time, within cutoff, wins. This is not an obstacle race, although there may be a special challenge included.

“Horison Light” will be a shorter version of the race, and suitable for families, friends and colleagues who prefer not to be race snakes.

“Horison Dash” will only be a run/hike and no mountain biking.

Race start/finish is as part of the Huis Horison Somerkermis / Horizon House Summer Fête which is a fabulous outing for the whole family and takes place at Huis Horison in Onder Papegaaiberg, Stellenbosch.

Entry Fees:

Horison Adventure Challenge

Race distance: +- 25km (+-8km run/hike and +-15km bike)

4-person team = R600

3-person team = R500

2-person team = R400

 

Horison Light

Race Distance: +- 8km (+- 4km run/hike and +-4km bike)

4-person team = R460

3-person team = R375

2-person team = R300

 

Horison Dash

Race Distance: +- 8km (run/hike only)

4-person team = R460

3-person team = R375

2-person team = R300

 

Compulsory items: Compass (one per team), whistle (one per team), cellphone (one per team) and water bottle/hydration pack (1.5L capacity per person).
