Carnival City Macsteel National Classic Cycle Race
The 35th edition of this popular East Rand classic is back, for a third time in the new Spring slot.
Diarise 27-28 October 2018 now. The Carnival City Macsteel National Classic Cycle Race is perfectly placed 3 weeks before the Telkom 947 Cycle Challenge (the revised route), and one week after the Tsogo Sun Amashova Durban Classic. The road race will once again be a premier seeding event for the 2018 Cape Town Cycle Tour.
New route
The 2018 road race (the 35th edition) will feature a completely new route, with traffic-free zones and reduced traffic zones. The organisers will be working with the Ekurhuleni Metro Police to ensure areas with traffic-free, or reduced-traffic zones.
Developing Cyclists initiative
Part of Germiston Wheeler’s initiative to “Develop Riders” has been extended beyond their local community to include a 30% discount for all riders who are 19 years of age and younger at 31 December 2018. The initiative is planned to help develop and encourage young riders in the sport. It applies to both girls and boys – entries can be done online like normal.
