Smarter vehicle tracking
At its core is an updated radar system that doesn’t just detect vehicles approaching from behind, but also interprets their behaviour. When paired with a compatible Edge cycling computer or the Varia smartphone app, riders receive visual and audible alerts that indicate not only the presence of a vehicle, but also its relative threat level based on speed and trajectory. A new feature also categorises approaching vehicles by size — small, medium or large — offering a clearer picture of what’s coming up behind. The result is a true sense of what’s happening behind you, not just an alert that something is there.

Wider awareness on the road
The radar has a wider field of view and can track vehicles across multiple lanes, with a maximum detection range of over 175 metres, depending on conditions. It can also flag vehicles travelling at the same speed as the rider — useful for identifying cars that are waiting for a gap to overtake.
Extended alerts
For those using compatible Garmin smartwatches, alerts can extend to the wrist, including vibration notifications and, in select cases, voice prompts (currently available through Garmin’s public beta programme).

Built to be seen
Visibility remains a key part of the package. The integrated tail light is designed to be seen from up to around 350 metres, helping riders stand out in both daytime and low-light conditions.

Compact, practical design
The unit itself sticks to a compact, clean design, with USB-C charging and a revised seatpost mount intended to fit a wide range of road and gravel bikes without fuss.
