Cross-country (XC) racing is constantly evolving, which means that the bikes have to evolve, too. Enter the Procaliber Carbon, the latest iteration of Trek’s hardtail race bike that promises to revolutionise your XC experience with unparalleled comfort, compliance and performance.

Fatigue-Fighting Tech

At the heart of the new Procaliber Carbon is the innovative IsoBow technology, a game-changer in frame construction that redefines what riders can expect from a hardtail. Traditionally, hardtails have been lauded for their lightweight and direct power transfer, but often criticised for their lack of comfort over rough terrain.

The Procaliber Carbon turns this convention on its head. With up to 80% of the compliance of the renowned IsoSpeed technology, IsoBow delivers fatigue-fighting comfort that will keep you riding longer and faster. The frame construction absorbs and dissipates trail vibrations more effectively, significantly reducing the impact on the rider. This means less effort staying on your line and more energy to put towards speed.

Shedding Grams

But IsoBow doesn’t just enhance comfort; it does so while keeping weight in check. The new Procaliber Carbon frame is about 200g lighter than previous models, striking the perfect balance between strength, compliance and featherlight agility. This reduction in weight, coupled with the added compliance, makes the Procaliber Carbon an ideal choice for riders who demand the very best from their XC bikes.

Updated Geometry

Another standout feature of the new Procaliber Carbon is its updated geometry, tailored to meet the demands of modern XC racing. The bike comes stock with 120mm-travel forks, providing a more stable and confidence-inspiring ride at higher speeds. The head tube angle is now 67° (previously 68.8°) with an effective seat tube angle of 74.3°  (previously 73.8°). Reach is 460 mm on a large frame (previously 450mm).

The updates significantly improve handling whether you’re climbing or descending. Better handling equals more confidence, which means more speed.

What Does It Cost?

If you’re looking for a high-performance XC bike that won’t break the bank, the Procaliber 6 and 8 models stand out. These models offer a great blend of speed, agility and value, making them accessible to a broad range of riders. The Procaliber 6 and 8 bring the same fatigue-fighting IsoBow technology and updated geometry as the top-tier models; the bikes just differ on component spec.
