Trek Unveils Its First Full-Suspension Drop Bar Gravel Bike
Meet the CheckOUT, designed for long, long rides, rough roads and all-round shredding.
Trek has taken a bold step into new territory with the release of the CheckOUT, its first-ever full suspension drop bar gravel bike. Designed to be faster than a mountain bike on paved roads and more capable than a rigid gravel bike on singletrack, it’s the ideal rig for road-to-gravel-to-singletrack adventures, ultra-endurance events, extended bikepacking trips, and more.

A smoother, more comfortable ride
With 55mm of rear travel paired with a 60mm RockShox Rudy XL fork, the CheckOUT smooths rough gravel and rocky trails. The suspension setup reduces muscle strain and vibrations while improving stability. The result is less fatigue and more comfort and control. [Trek claims 7.3% reduction in rider ventilation, a 41.5% reduction in fatiguing vibrational energy, and 23% less steering variation.] So Riders benefit from longer-lasting comfort on big days out, making it a strong contender for ultra-endurance races and bikepacking epics alike.

Trek’s new Gravel Adventure geometry combines stability with responsiveness, so the bike feels planted over loose surfaces while staying quick on the hoods. Add in a wide-flared GR CheckOUT handlebar and generous 56mm tyre clearance, and riders gain even more control when the terrain gets technical.
Ready for the long haul
With 18 frame mounts, an integrated rear rack designed to work seamlessly with both the suspension and a dropper post, and new Adjustable Multi-Mounts, the CheckOUT is built for hauling everything you need on extended trips. A lightweight yet trail-tested OCLV Carbon frame keeps it nimble, even when fully loaded.

Two models will be available in South Africa: The CheckOUT SL5 will retail for R115 000 and the SL7 AXS R165 000.. More info at trekbikes.com.
