Cannondale claims its newest Lefty suspension fork, the 100mm-travel Ocho, is the lightest, stiffest, and smoothest XC fork currently on the market. (It’s available only on the company’s F-Si and Scalpel-Si bikes now, but there’s rumour of an aftermarket Ocho in 2019.)

By adopting a single-crown design, the Ocho shaves 250 grams from the dual-crown Lefty 2.0 – and frees up other areas where extra material can be used to increase stiffness. The interface between the inner and outer leg has also been updated: compared to the previous version’s square-in-square design, the Ocho’s triangle-in-triangle design is claimed to improve torsional stiffness, reduce friction, and enhance steering precision.

NB: Only available on complete 2019 Lefty-equipped Cannondale models, and not as an aftermarket upgrade.
