The Durbie Dash Road & MTB
The Durbie Dash is a professionally hosted, competitive and unique event experience for all levels of cyclists, runners, supporters and anyone looking for an opportunity to experience at least a few elements of Durbanville and its surrounding vineyards and natural beauty.
The DURBIE DASH offers a carefully planned portfolio of events to road and mountain bikers aswell as trail runners.
At the event venue you will be spoilt by a host of culinary delicacies at the numerous stalls and cafés or you may quench your thirst at the onsite wine and beer facilities.
You can also get a massage provided by Durbanville Wellness Centre physiotherapists.
The MTB event portfolio presents 4 exciting events to the MTB enthusiast, all of them bar the fun ride (12KM) being Cycling SA sanctioned events.
These events all start from the Durbanville High School grounds in Langenhoven Street, Durbanville, on Saturday 19 October 2019.
You may choose to do The Altydgedacht Dust Buster (12 km fun ride) with friends and family which should give the old legs a fairly decent workout and allow the youngsters to show off their talent. MINIMUM AGE FOR THE 12KM EVENT IS 7 YEARS.
The more experienced weekend warrior could choose to sign up for The Bloemendal Rock Buster (25 km MTB event) or the The Meerendal Muscle Jammer (45 km MTB event) instead. These events should test your skill and fitness level to the point where you will certainly have a decent story to share afterwards over a soft drink or a beer. MINIMUM AGE FOR THE 25KM EVENT IS 11 YEARS & 45KM EVENT IS 15 YEARS.
Then there are the steel magnolias among us who will not dare to do anything less than the The Fair Cape Chain Breaker (60 km long distance event).
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS AN EXTREME EVENT WITH STEEP ASCENTS AND UP TO 1800m CLIMBING AND THEREFORE ONLY FOR THE VERY FIT AND EXPERIENCED RIDERS. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE DISTANCE.
MINIMUM AGE FOR THIS EVENT IS 19 YEARS.

The road event portfolio includes two exciting events on Saturday 19 October 2019. Both road events start in Oxford Street, next to the cricket fields where the starting groups will be formed.
Both the 90km and 46km distances are Cycling SA sanctioned events.
The road enthusiast may choose between The Winelands Meander (46km medium distance event) or The Wheatlands Dash (90km long distance event).
