Former world champion and multiple Cape Epic winner Christoph Sauser will race the Rainmaker Rollercoaster gravel race for his charity from October 6-12.

The event will be the world’s first seven-day gravel stage race and takes place to from Swellendam to Plettenberg Bay over 550km. Riders can take part in teams of two or can ride in small groups. The event will be open to mountain bikes as well, but the parcours will suit the speed of a gravel bike. There will be jersey and age category awards.

Sauser has recently gotten into gravel riding and racing, and is excited to be taking part in the world’s first seven-day point to point gravel race. “I have really enjoyed the new discipline of gravel biking and to be able to race it in a region that I love and know, will make it even more rewarding. Also, being able to use it as a platform for fundraising means a lot to me and the young kids of Kayamandi.”
