Absa Extends Cape Epic Sponsorship to 2032

BICYCLING REPORTER |

Absa has extended its title sponsorship of the Cape Epic, securing its partnership with the world’s premier mountain-bike stage race until 2032.

The renewed agreement, signed in Cape Town ahead of the launch of the 2027 route, extends a relationship spanning more than two decades.

Since launching #SheUntamed in 2019, Absa has worked alongside Cape Epic to increase female participation in the race.

Beyond world-class competition, the Cape Epic continues to leave a lasting legacy in communities across South Africa. Through Absa Business Banking’s partnership with Qhubeka, over 7000 bicycles have been distributed to Grade 9 to 12 learners since 2019, helping remove barriers to education and unlocking opportunities for young people in underserved communities.

As Absa looks ahead to the next chapter of its partnership with the Cape Epic, the focus remains on growing an iconic African event, supporting entrepreneurship and economic development, expanding opportunities for women in cycling and ensuring that the positive impact of the race is felt in communities for years to come
