ROUTE DESCRIPTIONS:
128 km (843m ascent)

Cyclists leave Kleinplasie and follow a quiet route through town, past the Karoo botanical gardens and a short, steep wake-up call up “Leeu-se-nek” with a stunning view of the Brandwacht mountains.  Proceed onto the R43, heading towards Wolseley. Turn left onto Slanghoek Road, take care as the road narrows on the low water bridge crossing over the Breede River.  The only other real climb of the day awaits, leading riders into the stunningly beautiful Slanghoek valley. Continue past Goudini Spa and turn left onto the R101 (Old N1).

Turn right into ” Die Straat” taking you through the back streets of Rawsonville.  After leaving Rawsonville head towards Brandvlei Dam and Nekkies Resort.  Make a left turn on the newly constructed bridge across the Breede river and head back towards Worcester town central.  Enter Worcester via Durban Road, then right onto Grey Street, heading out of town for your second loop, this time heading to the Nuy Valley.

Turn left onto the R43, left again at Aan De Doorns wine cellar.  Turn right onto the R60 heading towards Robertson. Turn left at Nuy on the hill.  Head past Leipzig where the famous gravel road section will once again be part of the DNA of the Tour De Worcester. (Fear not, the local farmers will help ensure that the road is smooth and free of large debris).

Turn left at the 98 km mark heading back to the R60. Turn right onto the R60 heading back to Worcester and Kleinplasie.  Take care through the new traffic calming circle as you near town.  A final right turn takes riders onto Perkins Road and wind it up for your final sprint to the finish line.
