Amashova Durban Classic
Oct 18 @ 5:30 am - 5:00 pm
The Tsogo Sun Amashova Durban Classic is an annual mass participation cycle event that takes place in October each year and attracts over 10 000 cyclists nationally. The oldest Classic in South Africa, in 2020 we celebrate our 34th race. The route follows that of the famous Comrades Marathon between Pietermaritzburg and Durban.
We have had many enquiries regarding the Amashova and implications of COVID 19 on the 2020 event, we are therefore looking at including a refund policy with this year’s event.
Trying to find a way that accommodates participants in these unusual circumstances is our main concern.
We will introduce a Refund Policy for the Amashova scheduled for 18 October 2020. We encourage cyclists to enter now and benefit from the early bird discounts. Should the 2020 Amashova be cancelled for COVID 19 we will offer an option to either get a 60% refund or transfer the entry fee to the 2021 event. The 40% will cover the online entry costs, bank charges and general admin fees that are accrued leading up to race day. Cyclists will be able to apply for a 60% refund up to 8 weeks prior to the event, thereafter no refunds will apply.
We will communicate with cyclists once the Government has indicated their decision on cancelling events later in the year.
